Getting your ears pierced for children?

The best age for piercing young children varies, it could be that the child is too young, i.e. an infant, that the child is involved in various activities such as horseback riding, swimming, soccer, etc. It is generally not recommended to pierce the ears when the child is an infant or younger than 6 months. This is for the simple reason that a small infant lacks the immune strength required to fight an infection, should that ear piercing become infected. Therefore, it is recommended to wait until the child is at least 6 months old or older. Every piercing done in the body can cause an infection, hence the importance of piercing aftercare. Aftercare is an important part of the healing process and the healing time for children can be extra long which can be due to any of the reasons below. The irritation often manifests itself in the form of a swollen, reddened or irritated bump AKA Piercing Bump The piercing may move or slide down when piercing children at an early age. When is it good to pierce yourself then?

The most important thing is the age limit, but it is also good to time and plan your piercings. For example, if you are involved in activities such as swimming, soccer, horseback riding and you know that there will be a lot of dust and dirt in the piercings or if you are involved in other physical sports and activities. The healing jewelry that you get in connection with your piercing should be in place for at least 8 weeks, which means that the piercing should be in the ear so that it heals quickly and smoothly. It is even more important to take good care of your piercing if you choose to pierce yourself despite your physical activity. The answer to that question is simply when you feel you can take responsibility for your piercings and when you can give your piercings the best possible conditions to heal quickly and smoothly provided you meet the requirement for our age limit.
